Personal Background

Born in Great Baddow, near Chelmsford, Essex, completed my secondary education at Great Baddow High School before moving to University of Southampton where I graduated in Maths. Settled after that in Surrey, where I've lived ever since, except for a brief period in Kent.

Enjoyed participating in a wide variety of sports and in my teens played rugby for Chelmsford Rugby Club (often playing alongside my father), swam for a year for Chelmsford Swimming Club and for several years raced for Chelmsford Athletics Club (where I won the Essex County Championship 1500 metres). Returned to rugby for a year at Enfield Ignations Rugby Club in 1989.

Have an easy going, sociable nature and straightforward, practical approach to life. Thrive when faced with a tough challenge and love working with people to solve business problems.

Current interests include gym, swimming, gardening, photography and music. Try to keep fit and unwind at Esporta in Bracknell a couple of days each week.

Qualified as a CIMA accountant working in a variety of commercial organisations ranging from software consultancy, oil exploration & production, retail leisure and electronics service companies, in the capacity of Finance Director or most recently Managing Director of Impact Marcom.
